Millions of people use syringes and lancets to
manage their health-care at home.
These syringes and lancets are called household sharps.
Anyone who uses sharps MUST properly store and discard them after use.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO BETWEEN DROP-OFFS
Put used syringes and lancets in a sharps container,
or a puncture resistant rigid plastic container.
Label the container: “Contains Sharps”
Ø Keep sharps away from children and pets
Ø Put used sharps immediately in you container
Ø Keep container closed between uses
Ø Bring a container with you when you travel
Ø Store container in a safe place
Do not put sharps into containers that can be punctured or broken, such as:
ü Soda/Coffee Cans
ü Glass Jars
ü Milk/Juice Cartons
ü Plastic Soda/Juice Bottles
SHARPS ARE NOT RECYCLABLE!
DO NOT THROW SHARPS IN THE GARBAGE!
